WOŚP Foundation: A Cosmic Year of Unity, Innovation & Impact

Dear Friends!

We’re just six months into 2025, and what a cosmic year it’s shaping up to be for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP)! From a record-breaking Grand Finale, through exciting space adventures, to our upcoming appearance at Expo 2025 and preparations for Europe’s largest non-ticketed open-air music festival – the energy of our community continues to move hearts across the globe.

Here’s what we’ve been up to – and what lies ahead.

🚩 33rd Grand Finale: A Record-Breaking Wave of Solidarity

On 26 January, for the 33rd time, our flagship fundraising event brought together an astonishing 1,686 Collection Centres across Poland and around the world – from the peaks of Europe to two polar stations! Over 120,000 volunteers joined forces to support this year’s medical objective: equipping Polish paediatric oncology and haematology wards.

On 26 March, we proudly announced the final fundraising result:
PLN 289,068,047.77 (approx. USD 78.9 million).

We've already launched our first Open Tender to begin fulfilling this year’s objective. The three-day negotiations resulted in the purchase of 1,542 high-end medical devices — tangible proof of our shared mission to save lives.

🚀 WOŚP in Orbit: The Golden Heart Goes to Space

Our founder, Jurek Owsiak, often says: “The Orchestra will play until the end of the world – and one day longer.” This year, we are not only stretching time… but also space!

Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski has taken the Golden Heart of WOŚP aboard a Falcon 9 mission, choosing our symbol of generosity and solidarity to accompany him in orbit. The Golden Hearts are awarded annually to the highest bidders in the Auction of the Most Generous Benefactors. This year, Golden Heart No. 1 was won by the Robert Dobrzycki Foundation, with a record-breaking bid of PLN 1.3 million.

We are immensely proud that our mission of compassion now reaches beyond Earth.

🌍 From Warsaw to Tokyo: WOŚP at World Expo 2025

WOŚP will represent Poland at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, at the invitation of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH). Under the theme "Mental Wellbeing as a Primary Goal for the Care of Future Generations", we will share the story of how a socially engaged, responsible community was built in Poland — and how it continues to thrive globally thanks to the boundless energy of our volunteers.

Our colourful, joyful presentation aims to show the world what makes the Polish spirit so unique – and we’re especially thrilled to meet our incredible Collection Centre in Tokyo, true ambassadors of the WOŚP movement.

🎸 Pol’and’Rock Festival 2025 – "This Is My Piece of Land"

This summer, from 31 July to 2 August, we invite everyone who cherishes peace, love, and music to join us for the 31st Pol’and’Rock Festival – Europe’s largest free, open-air music event and our heartfelt thank-you to the WOŚP community.

Held at the former airport in Czaplinek-Broczyno, the festival brings together up to 750,000 attendees. Beyond the music, it is a celebration of grassroots activism, inclusivity, and shared values.

This year’s slogan, "This is my piece of land", opens our festival oath and serves as a reminder of our responsibility for the world we live in. Jurek Owsiak unveiled the full 2025 line-up in June, promising three days of freedom, expression, and unforgettable performances across multiple stages.

🎥 WOŚP on Film: The Heartbeat of a Nation

How does one organisation unite millions, transform healthcare, and bring joy through solidarity?

These questions guided the filmmakers at Arte.Re, who documented this year’s Grand Finale in a moving portrait of the WOŚP phenomenon. The film captures the essence of a warm-hearted, empathetic society and the incredible, measurable impact of our Foundation’s work.

Now available in Polish, German, and French on Arte.Re, with an English-language version coming soon.

💬 A Final Note from Jurek Owsiak

President of the Board, WOŚP Foundation:

From launching into space to presenting at Expo, this year has shown just how far the spirit of WOŚP can travel. We’re immensely grateful for the support we receive from around the world – from volunteers, donors, and friends like you. Together, we make the impossible possible.

Thank you for being part of our journey.
Stay tuned, stay kind, and – as always – let the Orchestra play on.

I will get back to you with new updates soon!
