| DragonForce Joins Woodstock Festival Poland line-up
The band was formed in October 1999 by London-based twin guitar shredders Herman Li and Sam Totman, who used the name DragonHeart for two years. The line-up was gradually completed by musicians from various countries, their cosmopolitan pedigrees adding extra colour and texture to a style that mixed thrash- and speed-metal with power-metal, performed with high quality musicianship and blessed by a strong, stirring melodic undercurrent.
Through the years, the band has worked out an eclectic, unmistakeable sound - they mix fast-paced guitar solos with electronic sounds and they pair them with fantasy-themed lyrics.
As of 2015, the band has released 6 studio albums and 2 concert DVDs. Having toured extensively, they played shows in Europe, South America, and Asia. This summer's performance on the Main Stage will be the band's debut at Woodstock Festival Poland.

| | | | First Guests of the Academy of the Finest Arts confirmed
Woodstock Festival Poland offers its guests a diverse accompanying programme. Apart from an eclectic line-up, festival goers can enjoy meetings and discussions held at the Academy of the Finest Arts. The AFA offers a unique space, tailored for inspiring discussions and conversations with the well-loved and respected artists, politicians, journalists, activists. Public figures share their experiences and opinions in an environment that encourages open and honest dialogue. Everyone is welcome, as long as you are willing to listen and ask thought-provoking questions. It's difficult to list all the names of our guests, but the Academy was honoured to host the meetings with Andrzej Wajda, Lech Wałęsa, and Manuela Gretkowska.
The Academy also holds a variety of workshops that allow the participants to interact with art in a more direct manner. We would not dare put boundaries on creativity, and the participants are encouraged to experience art both as creators and as members of the audience. What's more, in the vein of exchange of ideas NGO organizations from across the world can showcase their causes as a part of the AFA activities.
The Academy also holds concerts on what is now known as the Academy of the Finest Arts' Night Stage. The concerts offer a change of pace from the hectic atmosphere of the Main and Second stages. The Night Stage hosts a variety of acts and attracts the audience with its intimate atmosphere and mellow mood.

| | | | Skubas to play at AFA Night Stage |
|
We are delighted to announce that Skubas is the first act to be announced to perform at the AFA stage. Composer, guitar player and vocalist with a beautiful, unique timbre. Defiant and rebellious artist, appreciated for his authenticity, straightforwardness and talent for recording the most remarkable songs. Music created by Skubas has an incredibly atmospheric, acoustic quality characterized by somewhat folkish, grunge sound. In his compositions, Skubas combines dirty guitar riffs with melancholic vocals to produce songs which are nostalgic and melodious at the same time. At live shows, Skubas focuses on the atmosphere which he builds up with his spatial sounds. He has been featured in line-ups of major festivals in Poland. Both in 2013 and in 2014, Skubas was nominated for the prestigious “Fryderyk” of the Polish music industry for “Debut of the Year”, “Album of the Year” and for “Song of the Year” for this two songs “Linoskoczek” and "Nie Mam dla Ciebie Miłości".

| | | | Tomek Michniewicz's talk at AFA confirmed |
|
Tomek Michniewicz is one of the few true explorers and adventurers in Poland. He is a journalist, broadcaster, photographer, backpacker, and writer. He has authored best seller accounts of his experiences of travelling the world, and he shares the observations from his expeditions in television and radio shows he writes and broadcasts.
Michniewicz is the first Polish journalist to step aboard Mel Fisher's Treasures boat, and to be granted the access to a top-security San Quentin prison in USA. He visited US air force base and NASA labs, and explored the murky world of Las Vegas casino crooks and cardsharpers. He broke up a gang of ivory smugglers in Africa, and tracked a gang smuggling art in Cambodia. Michniewicz does not shy away from the most dangerous and complicated projects.
His talk is a staple in a festival schedule for aspiring backpackers and everyone who is curious about the world around us. The journalist intends to touch upon the topics such as media manipulation, stereotypes and the ideas we might have about the world around us.
